Jan Outrata is associate professor of Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic. He works at the department since 2005. He obtained his MSc in Computer Science in 2003, PhD in Mathematics in 2006, both from Palacký University Olomouc, and he was appointed associate professor of Computer Science by rector of Masaryk University in 2017. His research interests include data mining and analysis and fuzzy relational systems. Jan Outrata has authored or co-authored over 30 papers in these areas in international conference proceedings and impacted journals including IEEE Trans. Fuzzy Systems, Int. J. General Systems, J. Parallel and Distributed Computing or J. Computer and System Sciences. He teaches or taught at Palacký University over 20 courses, from computer basics over unix-like systems, computer networks or multimedia systems to data compression and machine learning and data mining. His hobbies include free software and sports.
